Born two weeks apart, Fernando Guzman and Joey George, both age 36, have lived a fairy-tale romance.
George, a renowned celebrity hairstylist who grew up in Pennsylvania, met Guzman, a long-time Staten Islander, about 15 years ago on an online dating site.
“Fernando picked me up in Manhattan, where I lived at the time, and took me all the way out to New Jersey to one of these vintage, old bowling alleys where they made their own soda from scratch,” George recalled.
“It just was a magical weekend. We went kayaking, bike riding and everything that was kind of outdoor-sy that weekend and for several months after. We instantly became inseparable,” said George.
After this love-at-first-sight experience, the two received a domestic partnership in Richmond County Supreme Court in March 2014. And in 2018, they officially tied the knot in a scenic location along the Hudson River.
