STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Clifton residents Jaime, 33, and Alan-Arthur Aurelia, 34, lived a true fairytale romance. Both were DJs at the College of Staten Island (CSI) radio station while they were pursuing their degrees. Both were music majors and budding musicians. The pair are in an original rock/punk band, Not From Concentrate (NFC). Jaime is the lead singer and guitarist while Alan plays bass.

Both songwriters, they immediately shared so much in common, from their values and beliefs to their musical talents. The pair were — and still are — fueled by a passion for music. They quickly became best friends in their late teenage years.

It wasn’t long before Jaime — who was assigned female at birth and given the name Jenna — and Alan, a straight male, were inseparable and fell in love. They married in 2017.
The pair share a love so strong it could overcome any obstacle, they said.
And that unbreakable bond was put to the test in 2019, when Jaime said to Alan one night, “I think I’m a man.”
